Covid 19 Prevention Update For Our Assisted Living Residents

It is hard to believe we are now in the third month of dealing with Covid 19. Our lives and lifestyles have changed in many ways. Things such as wearing a mask in public that was only thought to be in other countries is now everyday reality. We continue to follow the guidance put out by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the CDC, and weigh options in dealing with the protocols.

How We’re Protecting Our Assisted Living Community

The New Day Cottages Team is working hard to find balance in keeping our residents safe and healthy as well as supporting their mental stability and emotional needs. To combat isolation and depression from all the restrictions, the staff promotes positive interactions, hope, and engagement throughout each day with various activities, entertainment, and getting outside for fresh air. Families are visiting their loved ones with phone calls, virtual conversations, window visits, and sending cards.

Visitors are still restricted to essential personnel.  All essential visitors are screened prior to being allowed entry, wash/sanitize their hands, and wear a mask. Staff is screened at the start and end of their shift and wears a mask inside our homes. We check our resident’s temperature and oxygen level twice daily and observe any change in their health. We utilize telehealth whenever possible with our healthcare partners.

As new guidelines are released, we will communicate the details with you.

We appreciate your continued patience and support. If you have any questions you can call the administrator at 719-266-1100.
